Indoor athletics under 13 county finals

After taking part in the Plymouth finals four of our partnership schools progressed onto the under 13’s indoor athletics county finals which took place today at Torbay leisure centre in Paignton. In all six schools from Plymouth took part including Sir John Hunt, Eggbuckland, Tamarside and Stoke Damerel from the Sir John Hunt SSP and DHS and Lipson from Plymstock.

Each team consisted of six girls and six boys who all took part in three track events and two field events which included 2 lap, 4 lap, 8 lap and various relay races along with shot, speed bounce and various jump events in the field.

Each event was hotly contested and the lead changed at various stages across the day. In the end it came down to the relays to decide the final positions and after a very close race the individual and overall categories were decided.

Well done to all the Plymouth teams including Sir John Hunt in 10th, Tamarside in 9th, Stoke Damerel in 8th, Lipson in 6th, Eggbuckland in 2nd and DHS in 1st for a great effort. DHS also won the boys overall with Great Torrington winning the girls overall so well done to them too.
