A.  Support for High Quality PE.

  • London 2010. Are you registered with GET SET London 2012’s  official educational site . Register your school to get some excellent resources and the right to use the Olympic schools logo. See http://getset.london2012.com/en/home

 Primary

  • Free Tennis equipment for schools. Don’t forget to check out the attached flyer. The deadline for booking on to the course on 19.10.09 is Wednesday 14th October.  Tennis Flyer
  • Only 5 PLT's who attended the PLT Day at The Devonshire, have completed the online evaluation.  Please could all PLT’s complete this as soon as possible. PLT Day Evaluation 
  • School Club Link days. All days should now be booked for this academic year. Please can you ensure you give the coaching contact plenty of planning time as to the format for the day in order to ensure the highest possible quality delivery.  (Spaces used, length of sessions etc.)

 B.  Support for Non Curricular opportunities. 

Primary

  • Basketball Hub Clubs running at three venues in Plymouth for years 5, 6 and 7.  All sessions are free for first 10 weeks and then £2.00 per session after that.  Please advertise the flyer in your schools.raiders_flyer_copy.jpg

 

C. Schools competitions.

Photographing of pupils at events. All pupils who do not have parental consent for photographs should see the organiser of the event and obtain a wristband for the pupil in question to wear. I have forwarded your concerns re Health and Saftey to afPE and the following statement was released. "Providing the wristbands demonstrate a snug fit  and are made from soft materials they should be ok for the majority of activities -even contact."  Glen Beaumont afPE Health and Safety Officer. This will become compulsory from after ½ term.

Primary

 The following competitions are now taking bookings

  • Football Year 5/6– Choice of dates for heats enter 16/11 or 17/11 (Finals 20/11)
  • Netball Year 5/6 -Choice of dates for heats enter 23/11 or 24/11 (Finals 4/12)
  • Invasion Multi Skills Year 3/4- Choice of 3 dates 1/12, 2/12,3/12 (No finals)
  • Multi Skills Year 2- Dates allocated according to academic council. (SDCC Large Schools- 5/11, SDCC Small Schools 12/11, Tamarside 19/11, Estover 26/11, Eggbuckland 3/12, Sir John Hunt 10/12)

Secondary;

  • BUCS Rugby Finals 2010 at Twickenham - Free Tickets for Schools In partnership with BUCS, unlimited tickets are available free of charge to schools and sixth form colleges.   • Female Referees Course @ John Kitto Centre on 8th and 15th November from 9.00am – 5.00pm.  Please advertise the attached poster within your schools and for further details please contact Adam Hopkins @ Devon FA.  female referees course
