Further Education Sport Co‐coordinator (FESCo)
Tutor Help Sheet
Phil Hague, Section Leader Sport, has been appointed as our FESCo.
The main responsibility of this Post is to engage and encourage more 16‐19 year olds within FE Colleges to participate, perform, lead and volunteer in Sport and Physical Activity.
Phil sees Tutor involvement as key to the success of the project and intends to send regular updates via the Tutorial Manager and Student Services and would encourage them to motivate and influence their students to try out the new Sports Clubs and put teams in the forthcoming Intra College Sports Events.
He is based in the Sports Office (K203A) and can also be contacted on:
Ext: 5843/ 07984362063/phague@cityplym.co.uk
Practical tips to get the most out of this Enrichment Opportunity:
Get the whole course to be involved with team entry into one of the Competitions. Players are essential but it is useful to have a Manager, Refreshments Person, First Aider, Administrator, and Supporters.
Make this part of a Tutorial Activity and let them take ownership of the whole process, which will allow the non-playing members to display their skills too.
Tutors can be one of the team in the non-contact events such as Volleyball, Athletics, Badminton, Tennis and Dodge-Ball. A great way to create that rapport with your students.
Get fit yourself and join the group in one of the regular fitness sessions.
