The coaching in the curriculum program has evolved.
The new School – Club link days will consist of 1 or 2 coaches coming into your school to deliver a full days worth of coaching reaching as many pupils as possible to all Key stages. Each pupil that takes part will be signposted to their nearest community provider / club. The days can be negotiation with you and the provider and could be designed to compliment health days, activity weeks, launch of a new school club, support a whole intra school competition day etc. Each day will cost one PLT day which will be deducted from your schools allocation.
A typical school club link day might consist of;
2 coaches coming into your school from 9.30 until 3.00 (on a day agreed in negotiation with you and the provider) - They will bring all necessary equipment.
On this day we would like the coaches to deliver to as many students as possible. At least one coach will all be Level 2 qualified and both should hold an enhanced CRB check (NB it is your responsibility to ensure you check this). They can deliver to a ratio of 1:15 if no teacher is present and 1:30 if the class teacher remains with the class during the session.
The structure of the day will vary according to the size of your school and the areas available but a typical day might look like;
A larger school might like to reduce session delivery to 45mins to reach more pupils.
